If there would be anything that I had in common with my siblings, that would be disliking going to car care stores, second hand car shops, especially cheap car shows – well, you get the point. It’s not that we hate it, it’s just that average, Asian-made (I don’t mean to be racist) cars are vehicles that we get to see every day and we’re a bit fed up with the sight; we couldn’t find enthusiasm and pleasure in seeing, touching, test-driving, and looking at usual, ordinary cars. Don’t get us wrong, we absolutely love cars – well, those that are extremely expensive and luxurious.
Last (week), my family and I went to a huge event namely: MIAS (Manila International Auto Show), which was held at the Philippine World Trade Center. At first, I was thrilled to know that my wish to officially see a Dodge sedan and a Maserati would come true, but as we walked past the crowd in the entrance, I realized two things that made me sigh: one, I forgot my camera and two, there were women standing by every car and posing for a dozen camera men. All of a sudden, I lost enthusiasm.
I honestly don’t get why car companies would hire women to represent their cars. Would you want your customers and buyers lose focus on the amazing abilities of your products, rather than fixing their eyes on some whore? Plus, it makes the false impression that women are made just to flash their boobs and buttocks to the, apparently, horny people or shall I say, men. Puhlease.
